Zenith unveils Rolling Stones-inspired timepiece

Rolling Stones, JC Biver & Son

Zenith teams up with The Rolling Stones for the launch of the El Primero Chronomaster 1969.

Jean-Claude Biver, director at the LVMH Group watch division, and Tom Bennett, CEO of Bravado, Universal Music Group’s global music merchandising division, announced the collaboration earlier this month.

Limited to 250 pieces, the timepiece features a sapphire crystal engraved with the famous Rolling Stones tongue. Engraved with ‘The Rolling Stones Edition’ on the case-back, it reveals the El Primero 4061 movement that beats at a frequency of ten vibrations per second, timing to one tenth of a second.

“Disruptive thinking gave birth, in the ’60s, to the first (El Primero) chronograph movement timing to one tenth of a second. The same ‘outside-the-box’ thinking gave birth to the new blues and rock ‘n’ roll music. Both Zenith and The Rolling Stones are living legends today. No wonder they are now teaming up,” says Biver.

Zenith will accompany the band throughout its 2014 world tour, 14 On Fire.
