Leading Swiss watch brands are rolling out one-of-a-kind timepieces to support the sixth edition of the Only Watch charity auction.

Only Watch is held every two years under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. It is co-organised by the Monaco Yacht Show, Phillips auction house, Bacs & Russo and the Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy – the leader in medical research into the disease.

The watches will begin touring as of September 23, going to Monaco, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York and London before finally arriving in Geneva, where they’re scheduled to be auctioned off on November 7.

Below is a list of what some of the top Swiss watch brands have released to support the event.

Vacheron Constantin – Métiers d’Art Mécaniques Ajourées

The enamelled red ring that has been added into the dial – a reference to the leading industry of architecture and watchmaking – makes this specific version of the fine timepiece strikingly recognisable and memorable.

The reinventing and reassembling of materials, which allows the light to reflect off the three-dimensional surface in a captivating effect underlines the brand’s excellent technique and craftsmanship.

Blancpain – Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar

Developed in Le Brassus, the timepiece pays tribute to ancient Chinese culture. It incorporates several elements that reflect principles profoundly rooted in Chinese customs and traditions.

For instance, the hours and minutes of the Gregorian calendar are aligned with the with the main Chinese calendar indications, which include the hours, days, months and leap months, in addition to the signs of the zodiac, the five elements of creation and the ten celestial stems.

Additionally, an indication to the 60-year cycle – central to Chinese culture and, in particular, the moon’s phases – correlates between the lunar cycle and traditional Chinese months.

Breguet – XXI Chronograph 3813

This one-of-a-kind piece was made with platinum for the first time. It draws inspiration from the brand’s 1935 wrist chronographs, when the first Type XX watches were developed by order for the French military and quickly gained a cult following from aviators.

Featuring a special flyback function – first seen in the 1950s models – the timepiece comes in a presentation box accompanied by a “unique piece” certificate.

Carl F. Bucherer – Manero ChronoPerpetual

Created especially for Only Watch, this model comes in white gold with the date of the auction (November 2015) embossed on the back of the dial in bright red.

On the inside, the Manero ChronoPerpetual features the grand complication of a perpetual calendar, which enables one to see the date, month, year and moon phase, without requiring any corrections or adjustments until the year 2100.
