Karl Lagerfeld expands to Qatar

The Paris-based designer and photographer celebrates the opening of a new boutique in Doha, increasing his brand’s GCC presence.

Located in the Lagoona Mall, it is the brand’s first store offering ready-to-wear and accessories in the Middle East. The boutique is spread over 80 square metres and has been designed under the creative direction of Lagerfeld himself. The black-and-white colour scheme that made the German designer famous is present throughout the boutique, along with mirrors and lighting designed to enhance the displays.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of the first Karl Lagerfeld store in the Middle East in Doha, Qatar,” says Pier Paolo Righi, CEO at Karl Lagerfeld. “As we continue to develop our business on a global scale, the Middle East remains a central area of focus. Our new Doha store represents an ideal opportunity for us to showcase our iconic, cool and accessible luxe collections and represents an important step, while further elevating and expanding our brand’s presence in the region.”

Shoppers will now have the opportunity to browse and purchase the brand’s latest summer collection. The Karl Kolors Accessories Collection in Klassics and Kuilted versions is available in the new boutique, along with a range of eyewear, satchels and totes.

The brand is focusing on the accessible luxury segment; its fashionable and casual collections are becoming increasingly iconic. The label is definitely successful in the region and its products can be found in different department stores and mono-brand boutiques across the GCC.

The Doha store is part of an international Karl Lagerfeld rollout, joining numerous recently opened locations across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The Doha store is operated by Chalhoub Retail Group, the brand’s partner in the Middle East.

Famous for his work for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld has not only launched his own brand, but has also set up an online fashion magazine, The Karl Daily.
