The art of bespoke: William Wagner Geneva launches in Dubai

Bespoke timekeepers and writing instruments brand, William Wagner Geneva, launches in the emirate.

The luxury collection showcases customised timekeepers and writing instruments crafted by William Wagner Geneva in collaboration with a number of independent and renowned artists, such as Jean Kazes, whose signature clocks can be seen at the headquarters of Cartier, Chopard, Patek Phillippe and Unilever.

“We design each client’s distinctive piece with his or her personal input. A rendering is then produced to allow the client to visualise the finished product before commissioning us to create the real piece, which can take several weeks or months,” says CEO and founder of William Wagner Geneva Ramzi Charaf-Wagner.

Launched in Art Space Dubai, the brand considers its products as works of art, which is only logical when it comes to bespoke. The brand is also sponsoring the Dubai-based gallery for the year to come allowing it to host more exhibitions and showcase William Wagner Geneva’s collection throughout 2015.

The luxury business has never been so flourishing in the GCC with luxury brands, such as Chopard or Grieb & Benzinger recently expanding their bespoke division in the region.

“Over the years, we have always made some personalised products for the Middle East, we have made a number of special series for Dubai in the past, almost every year, we launch a Dubai edition of a specific watch,” explains Karl-Friederich Scheufele, co-president of Chopard.

Unique pieces and personalised items have always been sought after in the region, which gives brands the chance to generate more revenue from their products.
