The Saudi Health and Beauty 2014 will take place from November 24 to 26 at the Jeddah Centre for Forum and Events.

The kingdom’s first health, beauty and wellness exhibition aims at bringing the latest products, services and innovations from both the global and regional health and beauty industries.

Saudi Arabia stands as the Middle East’s largest and fastest-growing market for cosmetics and personal care products, according to John Hooke-Tappin, event director at Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, due to its growing youth population. “The kingdom has a young and growing population of savvy health- and beauty conscious consumers that want access to the latest products and services, which is why a show such as [The Saudi Health and Beauty 2014] offers excellent opportunities for both exhibitors and visitors,” adds Tappin.

The country is also home to more than 50,000 registered service providers from the beauty and wellness industries, of which a large number is fragrance and hair care brands. The Saudi women’s fragrance market is estimated at $121 million, Tappin reveals, while both women’s and men’s hair care markets are also fast growing, expected to reach a market value of $708m by 2017.

Beauty is also one of the few sectors in the kingdom that does not face any government limitations. “This is a sophisticated, well-groomed and discerning market, with a growing demand for the latest and most advanced products,” explains Tappin. “It is also a market with one of the highest internet penetration rates, so access to the wider world means that consumers are aware of new trends, technologies, and products and services, and their purchasing power is considerable.”

With Saudi consumers spending approximately $3,800 annually on beauty and personal care products and services, according to Tappin, the sales of skincare products are expected to increase by 26 per cent in 2015.

Showcasing more than 180 exhibitors, The Saudi Health and Beauty 2014 will focus on topics such as personal health and pharmaceuticals, hair, nail and beauty salons, health, fitness and wellness clubs, and medical health and cosmetic surgery, to name a few.
