Chanel is the most popular luxury brand, reveals worldwide survey conducted earlier this year by Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).

More than 13,000 SLH customers around the world completed the survey, which focuses on the current trends in the luxury sector, while highlighting luxury travel habits and identifying favourite luxury brands. While numerous respondents reported that over the last five years, their consumption of luxury products has increased mainly in travel, technology and food & beverage sectors, they also stated that the brands they enjoyed the most were from their home country.

For the second year in a row, French brands topped the list of favourite luxury brands. This year, Chanel has once again been listed as the number one favoured luxury brand, followed by SLH, and Hermès. The top favourites list also included Prada, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

Roughly 90 per cent of Russian respondents stated that in the past five years, their main focus has been on the travel and food & beverage sectors, and 80 per cent on the technology sector.

The survey shows that, in line with the dramatic growth the luxury industry continues to show, the consumption of luxury health and beauty products has increased by 51 per cent, when compared with the previous year.

With such an increase in interest in the travel and food & beverage sectors, let’s see if Chanel can top the list for three years in a row. Watch this space.
