homegrown

Mediaquest, the media company organising arab luxury world, announces competition offering young regional designers a platform to showcase and promote their work.

The competition is rather specific. Design the best laptop bag. The event organisers will then go through all submissions to pick a winner whose creation will not only be exhibited at the conference, but also distributed to attendees with the designer’s brochure and look book inside.

The campaign aims to encourage young talent in the region, explains Julien Hawari, Co-CEO at Mediaquest, “arab luxury world is encouraging young designers and providing them with a chance to present their design for a new laptop bag to the crème de la crème of the luxury sector in the region.”

Gathering executives and delegates from the across the globe – the who’s who of the luxury industry, including top-notch brands, distributors and mall operators – ALW offers an unmatched opportunity for exposure. This second edition promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s; the organisers have already gone a step further with the introduction of the laptop bag design competition – the first of many initiatives ALW is poised to usher in.

“This competition is an important step for arab luxury world, which has made it its mission to help the region grow talent and provide access for young stars-in-waiting to the most prestigious brands and managers,” adds Hawari.

Taking place on June 1 and 2 at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, ALW will bring together representatives from an array of sectors including watches and jewellery, tourism, fragrance and cosmetics, premium cars and art and culture.
